The happy variety of capitalism 2.0
von Stefan Bergheim
Countries with a high quality of life show many, partly surprising commonalities. Our new study "The happy variety of capitalism 2.0" looks at 25 countries and 16 different indicators. A statistical cluster analysis combines similar countries into groups.
The countries of the happy variety of capitalism include Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, New Zealand - and Germany. Unemployment and working hours are low, the economy and the press are free, the government is effective and women play a relatively equal role in those countries. A total of six varieties of capitalism were identified and illustrated with many graphs.
